Start reading →David Silver has spent his life juggling writing, tabletop roleplaying, and whatever other work keeps a big-city life moving. He knows how to build worlds, improvise under pressure, and keep a game going when everything goes wrong. None of that prepares him for waking from an MRI and finding himself in Equestria—the vividly familiar, utterly impossible world he once loved from afar. Now David must discover how he arrived, what has happened to his body, and what strange abilities he may possess. More urgently, he has to survive as an unfamiliar creature in a society of ponies and other beings who have no reason to understand him. His knowledge of the setting may help, but fiction is not the same as lived experience, and every assumption could get him into trouble. With danger, friendship, possible romance, and no character sheet to hide behind, David faces the greatest campaign of his life: deciding what kind of person he will be when the world is finally real.
Characters

A Ponyville farmer accustomed to danger and to judging people by what they do rather than what they claim.
