Start reading →According to an urban legend, there is an abandoned subway platform somewhere beyond the official map of a city’s subway line. The protagonist finds the entrance and discovers something strange: the platform is still being “used.” There are daily cleaning records, electricity bills, and even a lost-and-found box. But there is no record of any train ever stopping there.
Zorica Pell
Zorica is terse, patient, and suspicious of anything described as impossible. She speaks in precise observations, with dry humor surfacing whenever fear gets too close.
A Croatian-born mapmaker living abroad, Zorica makes money correcting infrastructure records that cities would rather leave inaccurate. She wants to uncover what happened to her estranged brother Marek, who vanished while investigating the same metro line, and prove that he did not simply abandon her. She secretly forged a maintenance badge to reach the hidden platform and has withheld the last page of Marek's notebook because it contains a warning addressed specifically to her.
Who is maintaining the platform?
Zorica found six weeks of maintenance schedules marked M.P., a matching handwriting style, and a note stating that the replacement had not arrived.
What does the platform serve?
The departure board announced an arrival at 2:17 for an unmapped destination called Vesper, despite the tunnel lacking ordinary train infrastructure.
Did Marek enter and fail to leave?
Marek’s cracked blue token was found in the platform’s lost-and-found box, and records suggest he maintained the station recently. Zorica still does not know whether he remains there or chose to disappear.
