  1. Chapter1

    The First Offer

    That afternoon

Ansel and Raff arrive at Revenant Capital seeking a last-resort investment for Calder Hardware, only to discover that Sunniva Kettering is the decision-maker. Sunniva presents a punishing term sheet containing coded references to their five-year-old breakup wager and a clause designed to close off the past, leaving Ansel uncertain whether the offer is rescue, revenge, or both.

  2. Chapter2

    The Schedule

    The next day

Ansel and Raff examine Revenant’s term sheet, and Raff forces Ansel to admit that the deal’s personal clauses cannot be separated from Sunniva. Barnaby confirms that the old napkin carried a rider but refuses to explain it, while Sunniva resists Aloysius’s accusations and quietly revises the continuity language. Ansel finally asks to meet her at the bar where their wager began.
