Sebastian and Lucian witnessed a vision of Sebastian’s dead grandfather and a hidden staircase beneath Vesper’s End, while Vera’s voice crossed the distance through the white flame. Lucian revealed that he needed Sebastian’s memory of choosing the lighthouse’s flame, and the opened lens showed a double of Sebastian waiting below with a blackened lantern.

Lucian shattered his recovered memories to disrupt the entity, but the resulting gray fire drew Sebastian, Lucian, and the entity into the empty central channel; from beneath the sea, a voice now asked which king Sebastian would become.

Sebastian refused to become either monarch and used his reunited name to anchor himself between the white and black powers. With Vera’s altered death-song guiding him, he redirected the gray crown into the lighthouse mechanism, trapping the entity in the central channel while awakening a distant lighthouse. The Night King then called to Sebastian from behind a newly revealed door.
