The Shore Chooses No One
That same hour
Eira refuses to choose the first shore’s fate for everyone and leaves the silver witness-disk at the threshold, ending its role as guide and preserving the unfilled choice. She carries a non-unanimous proposal to the Halo: the shore may rise slowly as shared ground for the living and erased, without forcing the Halo to anchor or surrender its cargo; the witnesses accept divided consent, and the first shore begins to surface.

The Knock Beneath the Names
The same day, over several hours
The rising shore catches Suda’s salvage cargo, and Eira chooses to release it for naming rather than preserve the captain’s livelihood, allowing each object to settle beside the place its history belongs. The cargo reveals a circular sealed structure beneath the new coast; its first knock is identified as recognition, and Eira refuses to open it until the districts can map and hear its boundary together.
